If you are caring, creative and passionate about making a meaningful difference to people, make sure to register for Creative Community Project!
What are we about?
Creative Community project (CCP) provides art therapy for adults with learning disabilities. Each week volunteers attend a local day centre and run hands-on arts and crafts sessions which are designed to promote mindfulness and improve the wellbeing of the adults we work with.
You don't need to be a gifted artist to volunteer for this project, we're looking for people who are:
- Caring
- Compassionate
- Have a desire to help others
What will I be doing?
You will spend the session having lovely chats with the clients, listening to them, and helping them to complete their craft activity. Examples of crafts we do include clay models (dinosaurs are always popular!), tissue paper collages, sand art, beads and more! Often our activities are themed around special days or celebrations. No experience necessary!
Volunteering is flexible and you can attend sessions around your schedule, and as much or little as you would like (dependent on session capacity).
Register now to find out how to book onto sessions.
2026/27 sessions will resume in October and will take place on Wednesday afternoons, 1.00pm - 3.30pm.
The times listed here include travel times from and back to campus. Travel is covered and arranged by VTeam
