What are we about?
This project aims to increase awareness of animals’ welfare and to get hands-on in helping to look after local animals and their environments. Volunteers go to local animal shelters each week during term time to support with a variety of tasks that ensure the clean and healthy care of these abandoned animals.
We currently support a local Cat Cafe and a local Horse and Donkey sanctuary.
Volunteering for Animal Protection is a great way to get hands-on experience of caring for animals, all while supporting a cause you care about and working closely with a community of likeminded people!
What will I be doing?
Tasks include feeding animals, grooming them, cleaning the space around them, and other various duties where our help can be useful. Particularly at the Horse and Donkey sanctuary this includes a lot of manual work tasks that our volunteers do to help to maintain the space. Be mindful that by registering to this project you are ready to get your hands a bit messy and may be doing physically demanding tasks.
No experience necessary! Volunteering is flexible and you can attend sessions around your schedule, and as much or little as you would like (dependent on session capacity).
