This project was set up as a prompt answer to the need of having on-campus support for victims of domestic and emotional abuse. On the Mend group will organise throughout the year regular meeting/social on campus that will consist in a series of activities such as arts and crafts, therapeutic sessions, coffee mornings, meditation, and poetry.
The aim of our meeting is to spend some quality time together, get to know each other and meet people that have experienced abuse themselves, or that desire to help the victims to heal. No one will be asked to open up, if they don’t want to, or to talk about their experiences.
Through multiple recreational activities participants will have the opportunity to build trust with other group members, and contribute to create session after session a “oasis” or safe environment where they will find the support and help whenever they need it, and someone ready to listen to them whenever they will feel comfortable to speak.
On The Mend group is all about Healing together!
We need volunteers to lead sessions. If this sounds like something you can do, sign up below.
