Wellbeing Ambassadors Regular Project

This project was set up as an answer to increasing demands by students to focus on mental health. Wellbeing Ambassadors will be called on throughout the year on an ad hoc basis to deliver wellbeing projects on campus. For example, last year’s Wellbeing Ambassadors worked hard during COVID restrictions to provide students with a Wellness Day during Mental Health Awareness week. With this Wellbeing Ambassadors ran a series of activities on campus such as, a coffee morning, dog therapy, yoga, meditation and arts and crafts to share some positive coping strategies with other students.

You will develop a good relationship with the Students’ Union and deliver feedback on what students think about the University’s mental health services, thereby helping to improve services where possible. Our volunteers successfully completed the Mental Health First Aid training and the Signposting training, making them better equipped to give peer-to-peer support when needed.

The Wellbeing Ambassadors regular project is an opportunity for students who want to help tackle the issues and stigma surrounding mental health. We don’t have all of the answers, but we can create an army of compassionate students who are ready to go out and be there for others in their time of need. Whether it’s providing a shoulder to cry on or just listening, Wellbeing Ambassadors is all about student solidarity!
