There is a frequent, fast train service to York on the main east coast line from London King's Cross to Edinburgh. There is also a direct service across the Pennines between York, Leeds and Manchester Airport.
The Catalyst is 2 miles from the railway station and you will need to get a bus or a taxi to the building. This can take approximately 15-20 minutes.
There are regular bus services between Heslington East Campus and York Railway Station. The number 44 (UniBus) travels frequently, approximately every 10 minutes and costs around ?2.00 return.
The University is well served with cycle paths and is currently improving cycle access and storage facilities. Cycle racks are available in most parts of campus. The City Council provides free copies of cycle route maps around the City of York and there is a network of cycle paths on campus.
Further information for cyclists can be found at: www.york.gov.uk/cycling/
There is limited parking space at The Catalyst, accessible via an entry barrier that issues a ticket. Parking is free for visitors but you will need to obtain a permit from reception. Deliveries can be dropped off directly at reception and there are dedicated delivery spaces available for up to 30 minutes at the right hand side of the building - also useful if you need to drop anything off in the office.
Alternative parking can be accessed via the Grimston Bar park and ride junction on A1079 (Hull Road). When you turn off the junction for the park and ride follow the signs for the Sports Village. After the Sports Village, on your left, you will come to two car parks, Kimberlow and Field Lane. The second of the two, Field Lane, is nearest to our office. Payment for parking must be made on return to the car park using the paystation located there. Please make sure you have change available as the paystation does not accept credit card or mobile phone payments.
