Repair Cafe is a brand-new Regular Project that aims to help students across the university increase their abilities to repair their own possessions and provide the tools and knowledge to make this happen. Our volunteers will guide students visiting the Repair Cafe through the steps needed to repair their devices and help them use our tools to do so.
More people being able to repair their own possessions will help reduce the university's carbon footprint, as everything we save means one less thing in landfill, and also one less new product that has to be purchased!
Our focus initially will be on electronic and electrical devices, but we welcome anyone with any skillset to volunteer with us, even if you have no experience fixing things! We'll need a whole range of volunteers, from greeting people at the door to actually helping with repairs, so there's a spot for anyone to get involved!
