Southend Wellbeing Ambassadors Project

This project was set up as an answer to increasing demands by students to focus on mental health. Wellbeing Ambassadors will be called on throughout the year on an ad hoc basis to deliver wellbeing projects on campus. For example, last year’s Wellbeing Ambassadors were fundamental to the Students’ Union Vanuary campaign, which saw 1000 daffodils and positive messages get handed out to students. You will develop a good relationship with the Students’ Union and deliver feedback on what students think about the University’s mental health services, thereby helping to improve services where possible. VTeam will provide training: Mental Health First Aid and Bystander Intervention making you better equipped to give peer-to-peer support when needed. The Wellbeing Ambassadors regular project is an opportunity for students who want to help tackle the issues surrounding mental health. We don’t have all of the answers, but we can create an army of compassionate students who are ready to go out and be there for others in their time of need. Whether it’s providing a shoulder to cry on or just listening, Wellbeing Ambassadors is all about student solidarity.
